An 8-week RCT in 60 resistance-trained men (600mg/day — RBRN uses 500mg) found fenugreek increased free testosterone by 99% from baseline, compared to 49% in the placebo group (between-group p < 0.05). Both groups were resistance training, so the placebo increase reflects training effects. Total testosterone increased in both groups but the between-group difference was not significant. Body fat decreased from 6.30% to 4.63% in the fenugreek group (p < 0.01) vs 6.43% to 5.15% in placebo (NS). Bench press reps to failure improved significantly more in the fenugreek group (+1.59 reps vs -0.92 placebo, p < 0.001).

An 8-week RCT in 30 resistance-training men (500mg/day — matches RBRN dose) found fenugreek increased total testosterone by 0.97 ng/mL while placebo decreased 2.10 ng/mL (p = .018). Bioavailable testosterone also improved: +1.32 ng/mL fenugreek vs -1.69 ng/mL placebo (p = .049). Body fat decreased 1.77% in the fenugreek group vs 0.55% in placebo (p = .048). Estradiol levels did not change, indicating the testosterone increase works through a different pathway than estrogen modulation.
