NMN is a naturally occurring form of vitamin B3 that serves as a direct precursor to NAD+ — a coenzyme required for hundreds of cellular processes including energy production, DNA repair, and the function of longevity-associated enzymes called sirtuins. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, and that decline is associated with reduced cellular energy, increased inflammation, and various age-related changes in function.
